Greeting fellow Brothers of Sigma Tau Chi.

As summer came to a close, so too did the heavy rains that usher in the Fall on the shores of Lake Ontario.  While a few years ago we replaced the roof on 8 Montcalm, the rain now rolls off that new roof.  Unfortunately it runs down the walls of the 180 year old mansion and finds its way into the house.  Attached are some pictures of the mitigation that the Active Brothers are attempting to contain the penetrating waters.  We can't let this persist or any continuing improvements we make to the house and the overall structure will be severely compromised.

As the only practical solution the Executive Board has solicited bids on the gutters for the entire house.  Because of the mid-19th century construction of the house, any contractor will have to fabricate the gutters to the architecture of the house.   This will be an expensive project.  Just about  $30,000.  We are beyond fortunate to have two very generous benefactors who will donate very handsome matching funds to get us to our goal of  $30,000.   

Brother Tom  Zaleski (Sp'59) will make his donation of up to $5,000 in matching funds.

Brother X  will make his donation of up to $10,000 in matching funds.

These two Brothers  have our most sincerest gratitude for their massive contributions.  We are so very thankful for their willingness to champion this very necessary project.
