I think the whole board can honestly say that we have come a long way.  All of us that have been officers of the STCAA  and a select handful of others have been working behind the scenes to accomplish all of these goals. In the past two years we have seen the growing of the active membership. Not by big leaps and bounds but a good steady continued
growth.
We have also replaced almost every window in the house, buttoned up most of the exterior, and we just finally completed all the electrical throughout the house making it safer and more efficient that it has been in decades.
We on the board can work until are hands bleed but none of it can happen without the financial support of the alumni members.  We have been averaging $10,000 in fund raising between the dues payments, gold tournaments ,  and alumni weekend. This past semester we even had the actives raise $500.00 for the STCAA to use as we saw fit. We have come a long way!!!!
This past winter  four alumni Ron Ramsden s68, Mike Caldwell s68, Tony Carnevalle s68, and Wes Proctor s68 put together  a draft for Phase I  recommendations to bring most of the first floor up to standards of very good housing. Renovations that will bring the House of Blue back to the times before it was even a fraternity house. WE felt that it was time to do this type of work because we have seen such a greater respect for the house in the active membership of the last two years.
At this time I am asking for pledges from alumni to fund this project. The cost of the project will be about $30,000. I have the complete specs in word form and would be happy to send it out to anyone that would like to see them. We are basically going to be renovating the Chapel/Living Room, the Dance Floor/Dinning Room and the main and back hallways on the first floor. Renovations will be done from top to bottom.
What I am asking for is a pledge for $2,000 per man. WE would like to keep this to a small number of individuals. The pledge can be paid all at once  or over a four year period($500.00 for four years.)  To get the project done this summer an alumni has already agreed to put up the total amount of the project and only charge us 5% for the remaining balances.
I have talked to a few alumni already and there everyone is excited about it.  I am happy to say that just through word of mouth we already have $7,000 pledged toward this project.  All the work will be done by the 60th Anniversary weekend on October 6th-9th(I hope everyone is making plans to attend) and we will have a dedication ceremony to honor those contributors.
This is a little different that what we have been trying to accomplish in the past but we feel that this project will make the house shine and bring it back to its glory days of the 50's.
For those that are interested and would like to pledge please e-mailed me back. For those that have any questions please feel free to e-mail me at FMurano@MarshallSterling.com or call at my office at 1-800-564-3773 ext 204.
I am confident that we will do this project and I look forward to all of us celebrating our accomplishment of this renovation at this years 60th Anniversary Alumni Weekend.
